dc.description.resumo_abstractBruxism, characterized by the involuntary grinding or clenching of teeth, can be prevalent in patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a neurodevelopmental condition, due to behavioral and neurological factors associated with the disorder. Understanding the factors influencing the occurrence of bruxism in these patients is essential to improve their quality of life and develop more effective management strategies. This study presents a literature review aimed at identifying and analyzing the prevalence of bruxism in patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The review was conducted through searches in databases such as PubMed and SciELO, as well as digital libraries, using specific terms related to bruxism and ASD. The results showed that bruxism is a common issue among individuals with ASD, often associated with emotional and behavioral problems. In conclusion, the prevalence of bruxism in patients with ASD is considerably higher, highlighting the importance of early interventions.pt_BR
