dc.description.resumo_abstractCerebral palsy (CP) is a static brain injury, defined as a non-progressive disorder of movement and posture. It is commonly associated with epilepsy and abnormalities of speech, hearing, vision and mental retardation, and among such conditions, there is also bruxism. The present work aims to review the literature on the prevalence of bruxism in people with cerebral palsy, taking into account consideration of etiology, treatment and how this condition can affect the quality of life of these individuals. For this, the Pub Med and Scielo databases were used with the keywords “bruxism” and “cerebral palsy” alone and in combination, without publication date restrictions. The search included all articles published until May 2024. 43 publications were found, of which 20 were selected, after careful analysis. Retrospective data analyses, case reports and cross-sectional studies published in English and Portuguese were included. It is concluded that bruxism, especially in children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, is a common oral condition, however, knowledge about the associated and risk factors for the occurrence of this problem in people with CP remains limited. Therefore, it is suggested that longitudinal studies be carried out with larger samples in order to clarify these aspects.pt_BR
