| pt_BR |

| dc.description.resumo_abstract | Dentoalveolar trauma in childhood is a frequent and complex condition that can compromise the development of permanent dentition and lead to functional and esthetic sequelae. This report aims to describe the surgical management of a dental malformation of traumatic origin in a pediatric patient. A 7-year-old male patient attended the Dental School Clinic at Unichristus accompanied by his mother, reporting “gum blisters.” Medical history revealed a previous traumatic event associated with the loss of tooth 51. Clinical examination showed complete eruption of tooth 21, absence of tooth 11, and three normochromic papules in the anterior alveolar ridge region (between teeth 53 and 21), suggestive of healed fistulous tracts or epithelial inclusions. Tomographic analysis revealed malformation of tooth 11, with corono-radicular alterations compatible with a traumatic sequel. Due to the functional and esthetic impairment, extraction was indicated for later rehabilitation. Considering the patient’s age and high anxiety level, the procedure was performed under conscious sedation and local infiltration anesthesia, without complications. Postoperative follow-up showed satisfactory healing. Therefore, the surgical management of traumatic sequelae in pediatric patients should be based on careful clinical and radiographic evaluation and performed early to minimize complications and restore functional and esthetic parameters through planned rehabilitation. | pt_BR |
