| Resumo: | A reabsorção cervical invasiva (RCI) é uma patologia em que há um processo de reabsorção localizada resultando na perda de tecido mineralizado (esmalte, dentina, cemento) em região cervical do dente. Apesar de sua etiologia não estar totalmente esclarecida, fatores como traumatismos dentários, movimentação ortodôntica, hábitos parafuncionais, clareamento intracoronário, procedimentos invasivos e restaurações extensas estão associados ao seu desenvolvimento. É manifestação rara da reabsorção radicular externa, geralmente assintomática em estágios iniciais, o que dificulta seu diagnóstico e contribui para sua subnotificação. Embora não seja primariamente infecciosa, a colonização microbiana pode agravar o quadro inflamatório e comprometer o prognóstico. Diante disso, a combinação de exames clínicos e exames de imagem é essencial para o diagnóstico, planejamento e o sucesso do tratamento. Este estudo tem como objetivo, por meio de uma revisão de literatura, analisar os métodos de diagnóstico por imagem utilizados na detecção da RCI, destacando os principais desafios encontrados no diagnóstico diferencial, contribuindo para a ampliação do conhecimento sobre o tema e o aprimoramento da conduta clínica odontológica |
