| pt_BR |

| dc.description.resumo_abstract | White spot lesions result from demineralization or developmental disorders of this tissue, with a multifactorial etiology that includes cariogenic activity, fluorosis, hypoplasia, and molar-incisor hypomineralization (MIH). By altering the porosity, translucency, and color of the enamel, these lesions compromise the structural integrity of the tooth and represent a significant aesthetic concern for patients. Therefore, the present study aims to investigate, through a literature review, the aesthetic treatment of dental white spots using conservative restorative techniques. Methodologically, an integrative literature review was conducted based on the guiding question regarding the scientific evidence of the efficacy of minimally invasive techniques in the management of these lesions. Data collection was performed through systematic searches in the PubMed and SciELO databases, using the search terms “White spot lesions,” “Minimally invasive dentistry,” “Dental aesthetics,” “white spot,” and “treatment,” linked by the Boolean operator AND. Full-text articles published between 2010 and 2026 in English and Portuguese were included. Following the screening process of titles, abstracts, and full-text reading, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the final corpus of this study consisted of five articles that formed the basis for the qualitative analysis of the results. The studies reviewed demonstrated that minimally invasive approaches, such as resin infiltration, microabrasion, and bleaching, are effective and conservative in the management of these lesions, with resin infiltration standing out for its predictability, immediate aesthetic improvement, and stability of results. Additionally, ionomeric sealants and infiltrants have demonstrated laboratory benefits in reducing enamel surface roughness, although the scarcity of longitudinal clinical studies and the lack of methodological standardization underscore the need for further research to consolidate these evidence-based clinical protocols. | pt_BR |
