E INSERTION OF TRANSGENDER WOMEN IN THE WORK MARKET IN FORTALEZA.pt_BR
dc.description.resumo_abstractDue to the low representation of transgender women in the formal labor market and in the most diverse social spheres, it is intended, from this research, to know a little more about the main reasons that lead these women to be excluded from the market and to follow the path informal work. The transsexual phenomenon occurs when someone who is born with a certain biological sex identifies with the opposite gender to her at some point in life, causing a lack of harmony between the sex of her body and soul, or between her sex and her gender. This lack of attunement can cause discomfort comparable to a type of psychological suffering, from looking in the mirror and not seeing yourself there. There is a long history of prejudice and discrimination that conditioned this population to live on the margins of society, being totally excluded from some spheres of society, placing them in the spotlight in the country's violence statistics. Performing a work activity is everyone's right, but due to the standards imposed by society, these people are rarely seen in organizational or work environments. From the context mentioned above, the general objective of this research is to analyze the insertion of transgender women in the labor market in Fortaleza. In order to reach the outlined objective, a qualitative research was carried out, using the phenomenological method, to conduct semi-structured interviews with transgender women living in the city of Fortaleza, based on a trajectory study. It was concluded, then, that despite the advances and achievements in the LGBTQIA+ guidelines, the labor market is not inclusive for trans women. It is possible to evidence the lack of support of effective public policies and episodes of prejudice at work against those who manage to insert themselves in an exceptional way.pt_BR
